two-sentence fragrance reviews, part the fourth (juliette has a gun special)
weather: 🌦️ blessed moisture
critters: absolutely ADORABLE black kitty
got a JHAG discovery set! 🎉
a disclaimer about my terrible scent-mutating skin chemistry goes here. and here is the previous installment.
ranked from most to least favorite:
vanilla vibes: the vanilla is not at all what stands out to me in this--i'm extremely into the combination of salt and tonka bean. the beach resort swimming pool accord reminds me strongly of miami blue, of which i am also a fan.
pear inc.: a cheerful combination of sweet musk and those old-fashioned pear drop candies--cute and relaxing at the same time. the ambroxan does a great job of anchoring what might otherwise be just another ephemeral fruit note.
lust for sun: white tropical florals similar to napua'ala's plumeria roll-on. in this competition, JHAG loses at the drydown, when it starts to evoke the scent that nair had in the 90s.
ode to dullness: clean spicy woods with a powdery, almost peppery background. this could be my daily wear if i were a bit more masc, but for now, the vial is going straight into the boyfriend's shaving bag.
miami shake: i reviewed her a year ago, but now i'm getting a longer-lasting strawberry ice cream note, which is an improvement. still feels way too juvenile to wear in most contexts.
banana rush: once i had bananas foster french toast at a restaurant in palm springs, and in the first minute, banana rush is almost exactly what it smelled like. unfortunate that it dries down to a stick of candied celery.
