atmospheric rain on halloween + brow blocking + fuck nice shoes actually
weather: 🌦️ heaven washes the earth
critters: huddled cats
i don't remember rain on any halloween since i've lived in this area--so, a quarter century. there's a first time for everything. the rain itself wasn't too heavy but i definitely preferred having my umbrella
S's clown costume was so cute. it's crazy how such a big dude can look adorable in some face paint and an elizabethan ruff
my costume demanded patent leather pumps for ✨the lewk✨ but i can never hack those longer than an hour. that's what i get for wearing sandals daily for...right, a quarter century. oooops. not a hippie but i got hippie problems
it brought back memories of the first time i hurt myself with heels, in the pleistocene. at the end of the night, members of the party took turns carrying me piggyback on the mile-long walk from the club to the hotel. sounds like the start of a meet-cute but it was actually just mortifying 😶 ever since then, if i have to wear nice shoes, i've remembered to bring a pair of sandals
so i've never bothered to block my brows for any costume, but it felt so wrong to dress as a certain eyebrowless character and still have my huge eyebrows. i mostly succeeded in erasing them but not completely. now that i've tried it and know what my errors were, i'll definitely do it again
for next time: warm the glue stick with a hair dryer, use more powder and press it in more firmly, wait longer between layers, color correct with orangey hues
